McDougall Creek Wildfire - EVACUATION ORDER DOWNGRADED TO ALERT for portion of IR#9

Westbank First Nation, B.C.  – Westbank First Nation has downgraded a portion of the Evacuation Order issued at 6:50 p.m. today to an EVACUATION ALERT. 

The areas that are now on an EVACUATION ALERT are: 

  • All properties located on Westbank First Nation IR#9 North of Highway 97 between Daimler Drive and Grizzly Road 

  • All properties located on Westbank First Nation IR#9 North of Old Okanagan Highway between Grizzly Road and Shannon Lake Road 

  • Specific additions include: 3206, 3210, 3230, 3270 Shannon Lake Road  

All other evacuation orders and alerts remain in place. 

Residents can refer to the interactive map on cordemergency.ca to search by street address if they are unsure whether they are affected. 

Residents under EVACUATION ALERT must be ready to leave their homes at a moment’s notice, be prepared to be away from their homes for an extended period of time, make arrangements for pets and pack essential items such as medicines and important documents. 

Residents on EVACUATION ALERT can register in advance at https://ess.gov.bc.ca.  

Roads are closed within Evacuation Order areas. 

Unless you are evacuated or require emergency or essential travel, please stay off roads to keep them clear for evacuated residents and first responders.
