Reception Center Set-Up for Evacuees Outside of RDCO

Emergency Management BC has requested the Regional District of the Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Center to provide temporary group accommodation for up to 500 people on Evacuation Order due to fires in the Columbia Cariboo Regional District, Thompson Nicola Regional District and Regional District Okanagan Similkameen. 

Emergency Support Services has set-up a Reception Center at 1480 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. and will be open between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.  All people on Evacuation Order must register at the Reception Center to receive assistance.

Evacuees that have any questions or require information regarding accessing ESS services in Kelowna, should call 250-469-8490.

Several fire departments throughout the Central Okanagan have deployed resources to assist with the Williams Lake fire. Over the years’ the Central Okanagan has received significant assistance from other areas and are happy to assist others as able.  Resources can be recalled as required.
