Operational Update - Munro Lake Wildfire
Peachland/Regional District of Central Okanagan, B.C. – Emergency crews patrolled the Munro Lake Wildfire overnight, now estimated at 220 hectares, and will continue to work to suppress the fire today. All Evacuation Orders and Alerts remain in place at this time.
Peachland Fire & Rescue is joined by firefighters from BC Wildfire and Kelowna and report limited growth on the fire overnight. Structural defences have been established. With some wind in the forecast, and dry conditions, particular attention will be paid to maintaining the east flank, nearest Peachland properties. Increased smoke can be expected.
All Evacuation Alerts and Evacuation Orders issued Thursday, September 25 remain in place. Approximately 325 properties are on Evacuation Order and residents should leave these properties immediately.
Evacuation Alerts remain for 1,114 properties and residents should be ready to leave their home at a moment’s notice and be prepared to be away for an extended period of time.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF YOU ARE ON ALERT:
- Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
- Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure.
- Prepare to move persons with disabilities, children and/or neighbours, if assistance is needed.
- Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
- Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.
- Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence, if possible.
- Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating. Monitor cordermergency.ca for information on evacuation orders and the location of Reception Centres.
Emergency Support Services (ESS) ready for Evacuees
For online support, people needing assistance during an evacuation are encouraged to create a profile online at ESS.gov.bc.ca. People who have created a profile can log into the online self-service registration tool to receive instructions on the types of support available and how they can be accessed.
For in-person support, people who cannot meet their own needs during evacuation should report to the reception/muster centre for assistance.
