Additional Evacuation Alert for Munro Lake Wildfire
Peachland/Regional District of Central Okanagan, B.C. – An Evacuation Alert has been issued for additional addresses due to the Munro Lake Wildfire. Residents on evacuation alert should be ready to leave their home at a moment’s notice and be prepared to be away from their home for an extended period of time.
The following addresses within the District of Peachland are now on Evacuation Alert:
- Princeton Ave from approximately the Spring Creek Gravel Pit to Brenda Mines Rd
- Brenda Mines Rd from Princeton Ave to 4900 Brenda Mines Rd
- Peachland Forest Service Rd from Brenda Mines Rd to and including Greata Creek Girl Guide Camp
An Evacuation Alert remains for 1,111 other properties in the District of Peachland and the Regional District of Central Okanagan. To determine if you are in the evacuation alert area, view the detailed map showing affected addresses at cordemergency.ca.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
- Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
- Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure.
- Prepare to move persons with disabilities, children and/or neighbours, if assistance is needed.
- Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
- Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.
- Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence, if possible.
- Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating. Monitor cordermergency.ca for information on evacuation orders and the location of Reception Centres.
An Evacuation Order remains for 325 properties due to the Munro Lake Wildfire.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
- Follow the direction of emergency personnel.
- Shut off all gas and electrical appliances other than refrigerators and freezers.
- Close all windows and doors.
- Close gates (latch) but do not lock.
- Gather your family and, if you have room, take a neighbour or someone needing transportation. Do not use more vehicles than necessary.
- Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
- Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service.
Emergency Support Services (ESS) ready for Evacuees
For online support, people needing assistance during an evacuation are encouraged to create a profile online at ESS.gov.bc.ca. People who have created a profile can log into the online self-service registration tool to receive instructions on the types of support available and how they can be accessed.
For in-person support, people who cannot meet their own needs during evacuation should report to the reception/muster centre for assistance.

The reception/muster centre will be closed at 10 pm. ESS volunteers will be onsite again on Friday, September 26 beginning at 10 am.
