Additional Address on Evacuation Order: Munro Lake Wildfire
Peachland/Regional District of Central Okanagan, B.C. – The following address has been added to the Evacuation Order in place due to the Munro Lake Wildfire:
- 5875 Brenda Mines Road (ZipZone Adventure Park)
All Evacuation Alerts previously issued will remain in place overnight. To determine if you are in the evacuation order or alert area, search your address in the detailed map at cordemergency.ca. The Evacuation Order area does not include residential properties. Residents on Evacuation Alert should be prepared to leave their properties with short notice.
A planned ignition was undertaken today by BC Wildfire Services to remove fuel between the fire's edge and established control lines. To get more information on response efforts of BC Wildfire Service, visit BC Wildfire Service and find the “Response” tab.
Unless conditions change, no further updates from the Emergency Operations Centre will be issued tonight.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF YOU ARE ON ALERT:
- Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
- Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure.
- Prepare to move persons with disabilities, children and/or neighbours, if assistance is needed.
- Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
- Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.
- Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence, if possible.
- Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating. Monitor cordermergency.ca for information on evacuation orders and the location of Reception Centres.
Emergency response personnel request that the public:
- Avoid the area so emergency responders can effectively perform their duties
- Call 911 in case of emergency
