Wildfire Evacuation Order and State of Local Emergency

Thursday, July 19, 2018 - 10:56pm

This evening’s gusty winds have increased the potential threat from a wildfire burning northwest of the Mount Eneas wildfire.  As a result, three properties in the Regional District outside the Peachland boundary that were put on Evacuation Alert late this afternoon are now on Evacuation Order.  As well, a State of Local Emergency has been declared in the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area.

A detailed map showing all the properties on Evacuation Order is available at cordemergency.ca/map.

Properties affected by the evacuation order include:

Residents on evacuation order should leave their properties immediately and report to the Emergency Support Services reception centre at the Lakeview Heights Baptist Church, 2630 Alhambra Drive in West Kelowna. ESS volunteers are to help affected residents.  Residents that are out of their homes must report to the reception centre and register in order to receive any assistance and lodging.

Residents on the following properties remain on Evacuation Alert and should be prepared to leave their homes on short notice, should fire conditions change:
